Script Groups help organise scripts as you grow the number of scripts you have set up in your ScriptRunner installation. As the name suggests, they group scripts up to aid the finding of scripts when both running a script, and needing to select scripts in other screens.
Creating A Script Group
- From the menu, select Manage Script Groups.
- The Create Script Group window should now be shown.
- Name: The name of the Script Group. This is what will be shown to users when grouping scripts.
- Description: A longer description of the group. This is currently only visible in the Manage Script Groups view.
- The new Script Group will now be available when managing scripts, and will be shown in other screens once a script is assigned to it.
Editing Script Groups
- From the menu, select Manage Script Groups.
- Click
against the Script Group you wish to update. Use
and
to scroll through pages of groups if needed.
- The Edit Script Group window should now be shown.
- Name: The name of the Script Group. This is what will be shown to users when grouping scripts.
- Description: A longer description of the group. This is currently only visible in the Manage Script Groups view.
- The Script Group will now be updated. Changes should immediately be shown to all users.
Removing Script Groups
- From the menu, select Manage Scripts.
- If any scripts are displayed within the Script Group you wish to delete, click
against each script to move them into another group. See Editing Scripts for further details on editing the script.
- Once no scripts show within the Script Group in the Manage Scritps view, from the menu, select Manage Script Groups.
- Click
against the Script Group you wish to remove. Use
and
to scroll through pages of groups if needed.
- The Script Group will now be removed. You will receive an error message if the Script Group still has scripts assigned to it.
